Fly, Eagle, Fly! A Children’s Story, by Christopher Gregorowski read by Bob Commin

Dear friends and followers of my blog,

You shall mount up with wings like an eagle,
you shall run and not be weary,
you shall walk and not be faint.

I invite you to my reading of Christopher Gregorowski’s wonderful story, Fly, Eagle, Fly!. The illustrations by Niki Daly are equally wonderful and enhance the story for children, taking them into a rural South African world. The story is about a farmer who discovers an eagle chick in the mountains while looking for his calf. He brings it home and to the amusement of everyone brings it up as a chicken. But a friend who comes to visit won’t have this. He sets out to convince the farmer that the bird is not a chicken but a great eagle. His attempts to demonstrate that the eagle can fly cause much amusement and finally takes the farmer and friend to the great mountain in the dead of night where the friend is convinced the eagle will fly.

Enjoy the story and images and get the book for your children or grandchildren. You will find it online.

Shalom,

Bob

The book is dedicated to Rosalind.

The story is based on an allegory told by Aggrey of Africa.
